We are raising money for the redecoration of ourn local church, St Stephen's, Sparsholt, Hampshire, UK.

We have to raise about £30,000. We are only a small community, so we are thinking of creative ways of raising money, which are at the same offer entertaining and inclusive participation for the community

On June 22/23 2007, I shall be playing through the entire hymnbook - every verse of every hymn, from start to finish.

We have over seven hundred hymns, with an average of five verses, making about 3,500 verses in total!

I estimate that it will take me about 27 hours to undertake this exercise. I will be starting at 5pm on Friday 22 June and finishing around 8pm on Saturday, 23 June, which is also the date of our village fete.

Family and fellow-villagers will be providing company and support through the night.

I am hoping that friends will help support this cause by sponsoring me. This can be done either per hymn, or per hour, or by giving a flat sum.
